TP52 Balearia intends to break speedrecord ARC Race.
Since 1986, every year in late November, the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers ( ARC ) takes place. At the time set by sailing legend Jimmy Cornell.
The ARC is divided into a race for cruisers and racers (RORC Racing Division). Balearia will sail in the Racing Division. About 250 yachts participate, including nine Dutch participants.
The race is 2700 miles across the Atlantic from Las Palmas Gran Canaria to the Caribbean (St Lucia ). The fastest time was put down by the Ialian Maxi Capricorno in 2006 . They sailed the 2700 miles in 11 days, 5 hours, 32 minutes and 30 seconds. The Balearia team wants to break this record!
Owner Balearia Jascha Bach : ” If we are dealing with a constant east‐ north‐ east wind and our tactician does good work it should certainly be feasible to beat the recordholder Capricorno! ”
The TP52 is one of the most spectacular yachts ever built . Balearia was acquired this year by Toni Guiu and Jascha Bach who have brought her Back In Business. She is like new, and very competitive.
After the ARC Balearia is scheduled for all spectacular sailing regattas in the Caribbean circuit , such as the Voile de St Barth , St Thomas Rolex , RORC600 and the Heineken Regatta .
